The U.S. SEC announced Tuesday that Natasha Vij Greiner, Director of the Division of Investment Management, will step down from her position effective July 4, 2025, after more than two decades of public service.
Appointed Director in March 2024, Greiner led the division responsible for overseeing mutual funds, ETFs, investment advisers and private funds. Her work played a central role in maintaining transparency and investor protection under the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Investment Advisers Act of 1940.
“Her unwavering commitment to the agency’s mission and her ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes with clarity will have a lasting effect,” said SEC Chairman, Paul S. Atkins.
Over 23 years, Greiner held leadership roles across four major SEC divisions, including enforcement, examinations and trading and markets. Her career began as a broker-dealer examiner and advanced to positions such as Deputy Director of the Division of Examinations and Acting Chief Counsel in Trading and Markets.
“Throughout my tenure, I have witnessed firsthand the dedication and integrity of the staff that define this remarkable agency,” said Ms.Greiner.
She has received multiple awards for her service, including two Chairman’s Awards for Excellence and the Chairman’s Award for Serving the Interests of Main Street Investors. Greiner holds a J.D. from the Catholic University of America and a B.S., cum laude, from James Madison University.
