Bolton Global Capital reinforces its commitment to the Latin American market with the hiring of Julián Zidan as a financial advisor, after a career of more than 25 years in international financial institutions, investment management, and institutional investor relations.
The executive comes from EFG Capital, where he served as Executive Director of Financial Institutions for Latin America and led relationships with institutions in six countries in the region representing over $700 million. His experience encompasses Chile, Costa Rica, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, and Peru, markets in which he developed ties with financial entities and investors.
His joining comes at a time when Bolton seeks to expand its network of independent advisors and strengthen its capabilities to serve clients with international wealth needs. The firm, founded in 1985, reported more than $19 billion in client assets, 55 affiliated offices worldwide, and 135 financial advisors as of May 2026, according to corporate information.
The $700 million figure corresponds to the institutional relationships Zidan led in his previous position, and not necessarily to assets that he will transfer to Bolton as a result of his hiring.
“Julián brings an exceptional combination of institutional market knowledge, strong relationships across Latin America, and a client-centered focus,” noted Steve Preskenis, CEO of Bolton Global Capital, who highlighted his experience in various markets and his ability to advise sophisticated investors.
From Institutional Banking to Independent Wealth Management
Prior to joining Bolton, Zidan spent more than a decade at Crédit Agricole Corporate & Investment Bank. At that institution, he held, among other responsibilities, the position of Executive Director and Head of Financial Institutions for Latin America, from where he built and directed the entity’s regional business.
His work encompassed advisory in investment strategies, financing, liquidity, and risk management, areas that allowed him to develop a broad perspective on the needs of banks, pension funds, and other institutional participants.
His background also includes executive responsibilities at Banco Santander Mexico, Citibank Private Bank, and ING. At Santander, he was in charge of institutional and private pension fund sales, while at ING he served as Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and managed a pension fund portfolio of approximately $1.3 billion.
The combination of institutional experience, knowledge of regional markets, and contact with high-net-worth clients constitutes one of the main elements of his professional profile. His joining also illustrates a path of expansion for independent platforms: attracting executives with experience in large financial entities who seek to develop their activity within structures offering greater operational flexibility.
Zidan explained that his decision stems from the opportunity to combine his institutional experience with a global independent platform.
“Bolton’s independent platform, its global perspective, and its commitment to prioritizing advisors and their clients align perfectly with the way I have always approached this business,” he stated.
A Platform with International Reach
Bolton Global Capital operates as an independent broker-dealer registered with the U.S. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and member of the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC). Investment advisory services are provided through Bolton Global Asset Management, an entity registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
The firm offers access to U.S. and global financial markets, as well as wealth management services for domestic and international clients. Its model seeks to provide operational and technological support to advisors who develop their own client relationships, particularly those with wealth and financial needs that cross single-country borders.
In September 2026, Bolton announced the selection of SS&C’s Black Diamond Wealth Solutions technology platform to back the expansion of its advisor network and strengthen portfolio management, reporting, and client servicing tools.
Zidan’s arrival adds to that growth process. For the firm, his experience across six Latin American markets and his background in international financial institutions represent resources to expand its activity in a region where investors and high-net-worth families rely on increasingly international investment and advisory structures.
Zidan holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) and holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses.
