Charlie Awdry se uni\u00f3 a Henderson en 2011 como gestor de inversiones y es gestor del fondo Henderson China Opportunities. Formaba parte de Gartmore desde septiembre de 2001, con responsabilidad de an\u00e1lisis para el sector de materias primas. En septiembre de 2003 Charlie asume el puesto de gestor de inversiones y comienza a dar apoyo al equipo gestor del fondo Gartmore China Oppotunities Fund. Como especialista sectorial llevaba a cabo el an\u00e1lisis de industriales y compa\u00f1\u00edas de materias primas para los productos invertidos en mercados emergentes. Charlie pas\u00f3 seis meses trabajando en la oficina de Gartmore en Hong Kong enfoc\u00e1ndose en la b\u00fasqueda de oportunidades en el mercado asi\u00e1tico, retornando a Londres en abril de 2006. En junio de ese mismo a\u00f1o Charlie fue nombrado gestor del fondo Gartmore China Opportunities Fund. Gartmore fue adquirido por Henderson en 2011.
