Water and Artificial Intelligence: Among Allianz GI’s Investment Bets for the Future

  1. The scarcity of fresh water will not only not diminish, but will increase in the coming decades, making investment in new generation water infrastructure a necessity to achieve the required efficiency of this irreplaceable commodity.
  2. Factors such as population growth, urbanisation, industrialisation and increased consumption of water-intensive food will aggravate the water deficit over the next three decades.
  3. In the coming years, artificial intelligence could have a profound impact on the global economy, potentially boosting productivity in a wide range of sectors, from textiles to healthcare, food and agriculture.
  4. Allianz says PwC research suggests that the impact of artificial intelligence on the economy will be around 15.7 trillion euros by 2030, although, in terms of investment, it will be necessary to keep an eye on the different "waves" of investment, with periods of stagnation and growth.
